Increasing numbers of customers are purchasing Oracle’s Enterprise Business Suite (EBS) and Work and Asset Management (WAM), or adding one or the other of these Oracle products in a phased approach to implementation. A primary driver in purchasing these combinations is the expectation of integration between the various products, specifically to support Supply Chain/Procurement Lifecycle.

To business application users there should be no indication that data arrives from outside their primary application. The main objective of the integration should be to move data between applications and keeping the data synchronized automatically, without any user interference. User should not need to make adjustments in their daily work in order to accommodate users of the “other” application.

Predictable, reliable, actionable information needs to be provided in a near real-time manner. The interactions of these systems ensure that the duplication of effort is eliminated, and/or unnecessary delays in information distribution are minimized.

This integration addresses the necessary touch points to efficiently capture cost information as users enter their information in their primary application.

EBS is responsible and the system of record for Inventory, Purchasing, Account Payable, HR and Timekeeping. As EBS is used as the primary Supply Chain system for the enterprise, this requires several business interaction points between EBS and WAM systems to enable efficient business processes. Primary (i.e. Setup) data owned by EBS system must be accessible to WAM for transactional usage.
